Awards Program Philosophy

        All points and eligibility for awards are lost when Club Membership expires, but may be reinstated if renewal of  membership is made within six months of expiration. The Club reserves the right to modify points and award structure as deemed beneficial.  The club attitude is that it is The Club's privilege to place meets wherever and whenever possible and  to make it as easy as possible for all to qualify for and participate in the awards program no matter how few or how many entries are on exhibit. The Show Administrators are doing us a favor by allowing us to have these meets at their shows and we do appreciate their efforts.

Awards   Schedule

 The following point system is used to award "Exhibitor of the Year", "Award of  Merit", "Master Breeder", and "Master Exhibitor". The Junior Awards will use this  table but as it applies to the Junior Program.  To receive Points one must be a Club Member in good standings before judging starts. There must be TWO "2" or more exhibitors in the class, but other exhibitors need not be a club member for a member to earn points.    A bird can only win the highest number of points given.  all other points listed are given up for the higher number.   Example:  Best Variety 10 points (there are 10 birds in the Variety) there are 30 d'Uccle in the show SO  BB  and RB both will earn 30 points dropping the BV points,  In the Booted there are 12 birds in a variety so BV get 12 points. This same bird is BB and there are 15 booted showing so BB gets 15 points.   At his meet there are a total of 45 birds in the meet so the Meet champion will get 45 points as well as the reserve champion.   Sense the 45 points is higher than the bb wins these points will be dropped.

All "Show Years" begin January 1ST  and end December 30TH  of each year. Example: July 1, 1995 to December 30, 1995 was the 1995 show year. The 1995 Show Year was the beginning year for the Awards Program. Points will be awarded for the highest award position for each show; not all awards for that show. Example: If the entry wins BB, Best Feather Leg, and BV, the highest award would be Best Feather Leg and points would be given for that position only. Thus the entry would receive 40 points.
Exhibitor of the Year will be issued to the member winning the highest number of points during the "Show Year" for the *standard varieties
Award of Merit will be issued for 75 points earned in any one variety and this award can be given for varieties not listed in the Standards.
Master Breeder  will be issued for 250 points earned in any one variety. {no time limit}
Master Exhibitor  will be issued for 350 points earned in all varieties of the breed. {no time limit}

  All points earned before the new schedule came into effect will still count at their original value.
If an exhibitor wins 10 Master Breeders awards {no time limit} that member in good standing will be awarded a Life Membership.

*Standard Varieties are those varieties listed in the ABA Standard or the APA Standard of Perfection.
